Wine of the day: Pinot (Everywhere, every colour! This is one of my favourite grapes. It is very diverse, but usually on the lighter side. It even makes a lovely gelée.)
Cheese of the day: Paneer (Indian cheese! So good...)
Fruit of the day: Pear (Makes a lovely spread)
Movie of the day: "Punch-Drunk Love" (An underrated, quirky look at relationships.)
Album of the day: "Phantom Punch" by Sondre Lerche (He did the soundtrack for "Dan in Real Life" and is amazing! It's pronounced: ˈsondrə ˈlærkə.)
Book of the day: "Paddle to the Amazon" by Don Starkell (This guy was amazing! This is his first book about the epic adventure he had with his sons. They paddled a canoe from Winnipeg to Brazil. He later paddled up into the arctic and lost nearly all his digits to frostbite when things went wrong. He passed away recently.)
Country of the day: Palau (This is a tiny island nation in the South-Pacific, 500 miles East of the Philippines. {More on that later.} Its "Jellyfish Lake" is on my bucket list. SCUBA diving is NOT allowed, but you can snorkel. There is a subspecies of jellyfish there that have lost their sting. You can swim with them, but not dive as the bubbles harm them and the bottom of the lake is so toxic it will absorb into your skin and kill you.)
Interesting "P" stuff. My sister-in-law lived in Palau for a few years as a missionary, teaching in an all-girls school. She has many fond memories of that time and the people.
ReplyDeleteHow great! We hope to visit there from the Philippines when we're there. :)
DeleteIt is amazing how you are able to find such remote topics on every letter. The video is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Happy A to Z-ing!
I LOVE doing research! Especially on different countries. I'm a total travel geek. Hopefully I can make my own video of that someday.
